Today we explored the possibilities and approach
in which needed to be taken in creating our racetrack for the game engine
Unity, but first we needed to finish off our level design sheet. Having done
concept art for it, and creating a digital version we had to make some design
changes to our level after working out what track parts needed to be created
for our game. Tim and me worked together to finalise the concept art/blue
prints of the level design.
Here is the final design for our racetrack.
Wednesday
1st May
Today was a very short day for Final Major
Project as we had a very short period of time within the lecture to work on our
project. However today we found out that on the college computers we had Unity
Pro, this was something we thought we didn’t have access to, some of our original
plans included a video playing on the splash screen of our arcade but was scrapped
because we didn’t have the right software, but now we do, some of our old idea’s
can now be created and planted within our game design document.
Tim and I planned out when we would get
together to work on the track parts and what track assets we would share
between us to create for our game, as this week within our schedule we are set to
create the in game assets, such as the checkpoint, orange tape, and tyre
barriers etc.
From this week, I still feel we are making good progress within our project. We now have a complete and finish level design for our game and is ready to be used when the time comes for use to create track parts for our game. I look forward to next week in seeing who is doing what and how the models will be create for our game. A part of me wants to use Zbrush to create our models and another wants to use Maya, but we will find out next week.
